Exporting to HTML (ChickenPing)

To include a recipe in a blog or website, it can be exported to HTML. Choose File->Export->HTML.

Select a template and choose either to embed or link to images. Embedding images makes a single file which is easier to move around, but if you plan to export multiple recipes, linking to the template files instead can save time.

Creating Templates

ChickenPing uses the Spark View Engine to export recipes to HTML. This means you can create your own theme for exporting.

Themes are loaded from the Templates directory where ChickenPing is installed. Each theme should be a zip file containing the following files:

  • recipe.spark - The HTML template
  • template.xml - Metadata for the template. This must contain the following information:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<template>
	<name>Picnic</name> <!-- The template name -->
	<image>250x250.png</image> <!-- The filename of the template thumbnail -->
	<description>Break open the hamper and enjoy a picnic with this table-cloth themed template</description>
	<url>http://chickenping.com/</url> <!-- The author's URL -->
	<author>Harry Jennerway</author> <!-- The template author -->
</template>
